Montclair State University will present a benefit production of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues as part of the V-Day Campaign, which raises funds and awareness to end violence against women and girls, March 5-6 at the University's Memorial Auditorium.

Directed by MSU alumni Brandon Monokian and Allison Andresini, the 7:30 PM performances will feature MSU students and faculty as well as Amy Warren (August: Osage County), Briella Calafiore ("Jerseylicious"), Jessica Romano ("Glam Fairy"), Elaine Bromka ("Uncle Buck") and Suzzanne Douglas ("How Stella Got Her Groove Back," "The School of Rock").

"The Vagina Monologues is a piece that proves why theatre is essential in our society," said director Monokian in a statement. "Not only does it entertain and emotionally move you, it incites discussion that can be the beginning of true change."

The event will also feature a dance piece by Dana Balsamo and live music by Lydia René. Montclair State visual artists will also have works on display prior to and following the performances.

V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. The campaign raises funds and awareness through benefit productions of Ensler's The Vagina Monologues and other works. To date, the V-Day movement has raised over $85 million. For more information, visit www.vday.org.
