Northlight Theatre in Skokie, IL, will produce the world premiere of Bruce Graham's Stella & Lou in spring 2013, artistic director BJ Jones and executive director Timothy J. Evans announced.

The new work by the author of The Outgoing Tide, an earlier hit for Northlight, is billed this way: "On a quiet night at Lou's bar, two kindred spirits seek solace as they navigate changing times and relationships past. [It's] an intimate exploration of friendship, forgiveness, and the longing for companionship that grows with the passage of time."

Jones said in a statement, "Bruce's work cuts very close to the marrow of human experience with humor and heartache. Stella & Lou…[is] a refreshingly hopeful piece about companionship."

Performances under the direction of Jones will play May 30-June 9, 2013. Opening night is May 10, 2013.
