Freestyle Love Supreme, the freestyle hip hop crew featuring Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was last seen in the Encores! production of Merrily We Roll Along, plays the Gramercy Theatre April 7.
The 7:30 PM performance, directed by Thomas Kail (Magic/Bird, In the Heights, Lombardi), also features Anthony Veneziale ("Trauma," PBS' "The Electric Company"), Chris "Shockwave" Sullivan (PBS' "The Electric Company"), James Iglehart (Memphis, PBS’ "The Electric Company") and singer-songwriter Arthur Lewis.
Miranda, creator of the Tony Award-winning musical In the Heights, teams up with other members of the Heights cast and creative team in Freestyle Love Supreme to "take the crowd on a non-stop, hip hop improv ride, spinning cues from the audience into instantaneous riffs and fully realized musical numbers."
The Gramercy Theatre is located at 127 E. 23rd Street. For more information and tickets, call (800) 745-3000 or visit www.livenation.com or www.freestylelovesupreme.com.
