Rita Moreno — the Tony, Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning actress — won in the Solo Performance category for her autobiographical show Rita Moreno: Life Without Makeup, seen at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

Resident productions of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Seussical and Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins won awards in multiple categories. Tony winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q) won for his Original Script for the new musical Tales of the City, seen at American Conservatory Theatre.

Equivocation playwright Bill Cain won an Original Script award for his new play, How to Write a New Book for the Bible, seen at Berkeley Rep.
