Cy Coleman: Bringing Jazz to Broadway, featuring Chuck Cooper, Michele Lee and Tamara Tunie, begins May 15 at the Allen Room as part of the Jazz and Popular Song series.
Michael Feinstein hosts the series, which has also featured the music of Ethel Waters, and includes upcoming concerts exploring the connection between standards and jazz classics, and the common roots of composers from Duke Ellington to Cole Porter.
Cy Coleman: Bringing Jazz to Broadway is presented May 15 and 16 at 7:30 PM.
The concerts feature Cooper (The Life), Lee (Seesaw) and Tunie ("Law & Order"), as well as Johnny Rodgers and Tony winner James Naughton (Chicago, City of Angels). Naughton will only appear during the May 16 concert at 7:30 PM.
You're invited to spend an evening filled with personal tales of difficult choices, bad breaks, worse men and some of the most glorious songs ever written. It's an intimate evening, up close with a legend.
