The seventh annual Stella by Starlight gala, a celebration to benefit the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, is held May 20 at The Players Club in Manhattan.

The event honors Tony Award winners Harry Belafonte (John Murray Anderson's Almanac) and James Earl Jones (Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Fences, The Great White Hope), producer Daryl Roth, Ed Schultz and Masa Tanaka.

Belafonte receives the Marlon Brando Award for "a life committed to social activism and
excellence in film art"; Jones receives the Stella Adler Award for "consummate artistic achievement and
interpretation"; Roth and Schultz receive the Harold Clurman Spirit Award for "courageous contribution to the culture of the city of New York and beyond"; and Tanaka receives the Stella Adler Corporate Award for "outstanding commitment and contributions to the betterment of the community."

Stella by Starlight benefits the studio's charitable programs including the Stella Adler Outreach Division, which provides free training to over 500 low-income, inner-city students each year.

The Players Club is located at 16 Gramercy Park South. For more information and tickets, contact Nina Capelli at (212) 689-0087 or visit StellaAdler.com.
