Playbill.com's series features brief chats with actors commenting on their recent theatregoing experiences, what productions they are looking forward to and more. Here, via email, we hear from singing actor Tyler Maynard, who will be seen in the New York Musical Theatre Festival production of Cruel Shoes; for more information visit nymf.org.

What show recently impressed you?
Porgy and Bess. Those people were up there singing — and they made it look so easy. And, I love seeing shows I could never be in — because I am not constantly looking for a job while watching.

What production are you most excited to see?
I am most excited to see Cruel Shoes. Because I am obsessed with serial killers and I am so excited to play one. That sounded wrong....

What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
It's a long shot, but I will make it happen... I want them to revive Grand Hotel, and I want to play Otto Kringelein. I did it in college when I had no clue what I was doing, and I would love to get another stab at him now that I have lived life a bit. And, I need to play the Beggar Woman before I die. Oh — and Bobby Child in Crazy For You. That's all.

What are your current/upcoming projects?
After I finish Cruel Shoes, I go back to the other show I was working on called Walking Tall — The Tyler Maynard Story. It's about a guy searching for the best version of himself and healing his wounds along the way. It should be a success!
