Lincoln Center Out of Doors Fest Lines Up Michael Cerveris, Taylor Mac, Melissa Manchester and More

Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris, Taylor Mac, Angelica Page and Melissa Manchester will appear during this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival.

Running July 25-Aug. 12, the festival will feature 100 free performances across the plazas of Lincoln Center.

On July 29, the festival will present Gathering the Bards: From Galway to Rockway, with readings from Irish classics, new works and musical performances by Cara Seymour ("Gangs of New York," "Hotel Rwanda"), Malachy McCourt, Peter Quinn, Angelica Page (August: Osage County) and Gina Forsyth. That same day the All Star Irish Rock Revue! will take place with musical performances by Michael Cerveris (Evita, Sweeney Todd) as well as Willie Nile, Tami Lynn, Ellen Foley and Laura Cantrell.

Additional highlights include Grammy Award winner Melissa Manchester and Kate Ferber, who will be part of The Triple Goddess Twilight Revue - Celebrating The Music of Laura Nyro on Aug. 11. They join Toni Wine, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash for the evening of song.



An Aug. 10 performance will feature the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble presenting highlights from the 1984 piece Lush Life, created with Maya Angelou, celebrating jazz music and spoken word, with excerpts by Angelou and Langston Hughes.

On Aug. 12 Obie winner Taylor Mac will offer A History of Popular Music, billed as "a brief survey of his current project, a marathon examination of 200+ years of popular music in America, presented era-by-era, one in a series of concerts that will culminate in 2013 with a 24-hour long show."
