Mazeppa Productions kicks off its second season July 11 with the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening July 11 at the Christ Church Neighborhood House Theatre in Philadelphia. Opening night is July 12.
The cast features Jim Hogan as Melchior, Breanna Pursell as Wendla, Nate Golden as Moritz, Michael Gray as Adult Male, Ian Monaco as Ernst, Billy Kametz as Hanschen, Jeremy Konopka as Georg, Zach Kononov as Otto, Jenna Kuerzi as Ilse, Catherine Maeve Logan as Thea, Leeanna Rubin as Adult Female, Grace Tarves as Martha and Brittany Taylor as Anne.
Spring Awakening, according to Mazeppa Productions, "is a coming-of-age story that tells the timeless story of self-discovery and budding sexuality as seen through the eyes of three naïve teenagers. Haunting and provocative, Spring Awakening celebrates an unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with unforgettable power, poignancy and passion."
Other members of the creative team include music director Gerald Kapral, choreographer Dawn Morningstar, assistant director Anne Marie Scalies, technical director Matt Kator, set designer Brian Seaman, costume designer Julia Poiesz, prop designer Christopher Haig, lighting designer Alyssandra Docherty and stage manager Kelly Orenshaw.
Mazeppa Productions was founded in 2011 by artistic director Rob Henry and managing director Brian Seaman. The company produces contemporary musical theatre productions and reinvents classic musicals.
