First Lady Michelle Obama hit the Broadway scene this past weekend, attending the Tony Award-winning revival The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess and the high-flying action musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

"Catfish row is floating on air after meeting Michelle Obama at our show tonite," tweeted Tony Award-winning Porgy and Bess star Audra McDonald following the July 14 evening performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. "She is grace incarnate & hugged every member of the cast!"

Following her trip to Catfish Row, the First Lady took her daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, to the Foxwoods Theatre for the sold-out Sunday matinee of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

According to a representative from the production, the 3 PM curtain was held a few minutes as the Obamas slipped into their seats — to a round of applause. The First Family led the show's standing ovation.

"We're sure The First Lady, Malia and Sasha were checking out the show for The President, a self-proclaimed Spider-Man geek," said Rick Miramontez, spokesman for Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, in a statement. "We'll be happy to have him anytime, and even happier to fly Spidey at The White House for his upcoming birthday."

President Barack Obama, an avid theatregoer, was recently seen on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre, where he offered Barack on Broadway, a star-studded evening on Broadway alongside former President Bill Clinton. Read the President's remarks from the evening here.
