Out Loud, Ars Nova's free play-reading series dedicated to developing new work by emerging playwrights, will continue July 30 with Michael Mitnick's Little Boy Blue.

Directed by Sam Buntrock, the 7 PM reading will feature the talents of Bryan Terell Clark, Ana Nogueira, Noah Robbins and Luke Robertson.

"A poor little rich kid gets it in his head that he is capable of inventing the perfect murder," according to press notes. "But when his plan is put into motion and it looks like he's going to succeed, is it too late to slam on the brakes?"

Michael Mitnick’s recent output includes Sex Lives of Our Parents (produced at Second Stage Uptown) and Fly By Night (produced at TheatreWorks, upcoming production next season at Dallas Theater Center). Upcoming world premieres next season include Ed, Downloaded, directed by Sam Buntrock by The Denver Center Theatre Company; elijah by LOCAL in Boulder; and SPACEBAR: a Broadway Play by Kyle Sugarman at City Lights in San Jose. For Broadway, he is writing the book for Animal House and lyrics for King Kong.

The upcoming reading is free and open to the public. Reservations are required. E-mail rsvp@arsnovanyc.com.
