Written and conceived by Sinclair Mitchell, the reading of the musical's first act is scheduled for 4 PM.
"The first inspiration for writing Two Lost Worlds came to me when I was in rehearsal for The Lion King," Mitchell told Playbill.com. "Julie Taymor incorporated so many different art forms from around the world in her work. Watching how the magic truly came to life inspired me to do the same. It taught me to create and tell my own story. Being a part of such a magical show inspired me to the point that I wanted to inspire others. I've always loved history, and setting Two Lost Worlds in ancient times made it a joy to write. Dating it far back to the 4th Dynasty of Egypt and Atlantis, where much is unknown, made it that much more exciting. It also brought about an opportunity to write for an ethnically diverse cast. It's a beautiful love story immersed in turmoil. The musical influences are endless; everything from Gospel, Michael Jackson to Rodgers and Hart. There's something for everyone."
The cast will feature Nicole Scherzinger, April Nixon, Robin Michelle Taylor, Charles Wallace, Zoie Morris, Jon Conver, John H. Thyen, Darryl Williams, Chelsea Lynne Myers and Chelsey Keding. Musical director is Brian Whitted.
"Before Joan of Ark, Delilah, Helen of Troy, or Cleopatra there was Phatobie, the last Princess of Atlantis, and the forgotten tale in the Kingdom of Egypt," according to press notes. "Two Lost Worlds is a musical love story set in a time when the gods sank Atlantis and Egypt suffered with uncertainty. Riddled with morals and lessons, Two Lost Worlds is the tale of how one woman gave hope to a people thought abandoned by the gods."
