Written by Million Dollar Quartet cast members Randy Redd and Dan Mills, Fiction in Photographs will receive an Aug. 7 industry presentation at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. Prior to that private performance, the public will have the chance to hear songs from the work at 8 PM at the 92YTribeca. Proceeds will go to Sing For Hope.
The five-actor, one-act musical that is described as a "delicate balance of wisdom and sentiment...[that] reveals the vivid contrasts between life as it is remembered and life as it happens. Fiction in Photographs, a multimedia theatrical event, is a fresh, sincere and ultimately heartbreaking new musical."
The concert will feature Pritchard (Spring Awakening) and Burden (Les Miserables, Applause), as well as singer-songwriter Adam Day, Alysha Deslorieux (Sister Act) and David Mizzoni. All of the actors will also appear in the Aug. 7 presentation.
Philip Katz/Broadway Theatrical and Amanda Rehbein produce the musical, which is aiming for a commercial run later this season. Redd played Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet Off-Broadway, while Mills was seen as Carl Perkins on Broadway and Off. Redd is also the co-author of What's That Smell: The Music Of Jacob Sterling.
Fiction in Photographs has choreography by Jacob Pinion and vocal arrangements and musical direction by Adam Podd.
