As the high-flying new musical Bring It On prepared to basket-toss its way onto Broadway, cast member Ariana DeBose ("So You Think You Can Dance"), who plays Danielle's Jackson High sidekick Nautica, takes Playbill Video through the day leading up to her Broadway debut.
Here, in the first part of the Playbill Video exclusive documenting Bring It On's record-breaking 32 Broadway debuts, we join DeBose on Aug. 1 — opening night of the new Broadway musical — as she makes her way to the St. James Theatre for a final rehearsal before the show's big night on Broadway. Follow her route from her uptown home to her midtown theatre.
In Bring It On: The Musical, according to producers, "the high-stakes world of competitive cheerleading is intertwined with cutthroat high school politics to tell the story of Campbell, the heir apparent to the head cheerleader at Truman High School. Campbell is at the top of the cheerleader pyramid and she has it all — a strong squad, a doting boyfriend and a straight path to the national championships. Her entire life has been dedicated to honing routines and staying within the strict rules and guidelines, but when a surprise letter arrives, Campbell's world is thrown upside down."
