Judy Greer, Josh Hamilton and Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell will join two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz and Katie Holmes in the Broadway world premiere of Theresa Rebeck's comedy Dead Accounts this fall at the Music Box Theatre.

Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (The Coast of Utopia, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Hairspray) will direct the dark comedy that begins previews Nov. 3 towards a Nov. 29 opening.

Butz (Speed-The-Plow, Catch Me If You Can, Wicked) will portray prodigal son Jack, with Holmes ("Dawson's Creek," "Pieces of April," "The Ice Storm") as his sister Lorna. Houdyshell (Follies, Well) will portray their mother, with Greer ("The Descendants") in her Broadway debut as the wife of Butz's character. Hamilton was last seen on Broadway in The Coast of Utopia and will play a childhood friend.

The play had its world premiere last winter at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Additional creative duties will be announced.

Here's how the play is billed: "Jack's unexpected return throws his family into a frenzy, and his sister Lorna needs answers. Is he coming home or running away? Where is his wife everyone hates? And how did he get all that money? Theresa Rebeck’s new comedy tackles the timely issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back… with no questions asked."

Dead Accounts is produced by Jeffrey Finn, John N. Hart Jr., David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas, Ergo Entertainment, and The Shubert Organization.

Rebeck was a Pulitzer Prize finalist as the co-author of Omnium Gatherum. Her plays also include Bad Dates, The Scene and The Understudy and more. She has also authored the feature films "Harriet the Spy" and "Gossip," and earned a Peabody Award for "NYPD Blue." She is the creator of the NBC musical series "Smash."
