Cirque du Soleil creative team members Andrew Wright and Roger Butterley present an interactive rock-concert staging of Hair, Sept. 7-8 in Las Vegas.
Free performances of Hair, which are geared to raise awareness and support for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in the Las Vegas area, are held at the First Friday Festival on Sept. 7 and at the Hard Rock Cafe on Sept. 8.
"The crowd is part of the show," said director Wright in a statement. "We have Tribe members out and about the entire time, interacting, getting audience member to protest and sing along."
The cast includes Brandon Nix, Dustin Dubreuil, Anne Barr, Kirstin Maki, Carnell Johnson, Lily Arce, Marissa Miranda, Keith Dotson, Glenn Heath and Stephanie Sanchez, among others. Special guest artists include Niles Rivers (The Lion King) and Sin City Dolls.
The band, Hazlenutt Cocaine, includes music director Butterley, Karalyn Clark, Matt Murphey and Aja Marie. Callie Schouten provides choreography.
