Janie Dee will play Dolly Levi in a new production of Hello, Dolly! at the U.K.'s Curve Theatre, Leicester, replacing the originally announced Caroline O'Connor, who has withdrawn "due to a commitment to another project."

The production, which begins performances Nov. 30 prior to an official opening Dec. 5, for a run through Jan. 12, 2013, will be directed by the theatre's artistic director, Paul Kerryson. Dee previously starred at the Curve in Kerryson's 2010 production of The King and I.

Before starring in Hello, Dolly!, Dee will also appear at the Royal Court in the forthcoming premiere of NSFW, running Oct. 25-Nov. 24. She has also appeared in the West End in everything from Gershwin and Jerry Herman musicals (My One and Only, Mack and Mabel) to Pinter (Betrayal) and Ayckbourn (Woman in Mind, Comic Potential). Recent credits include Private Lives at Nottingham Playhouse, All's Well that Ends Well at Shakespeare's Globe and The King and I at the Curve Leicester.

Also in the cast are Laura Pitt-Pulford (Irene Molloy), Jason Denton (Barnaby Tucker), Keisha Atwell (Ermengarde) and Simon Donovan (Ambrose Kemper).  Further casting is still to be announced.
