Inspired by Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, but not a direct adaptation, it features a book by Nick Stimson and is being developed and directed by Andrew Keates, who previously staged Goodall's The Hired Man at the Landor last year. Other recent directorial credits include Martin Sherman's Passing By at the Finborough and The Thing About Men at the Landor.
According to press materials, the show explores two very different lands that one day must conquer their differences through universal themes of love, understanding and truth. Goodall's Love Story is currently receiving its U.S. premiere at Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre through Oct. 21.
It is presented by Arion Productions Ltd, in association with the Landor Theatre and supported by Faber Music Ltd and PBJ Management.
The creative team includes George Dyer as musical supervisor, with Martin Thomas as designer, Howard Hudson as lighting designer, Sarah Weltman as sound designer, Philippa Batt as costume designer and Cressida Carre providing musical staging.
Casting is still to be announced.
