Directed by Paul Taylor-Mills and choreographed by Richard Jones, who previously collaborated on The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (also at the Union) and Rent at Greenwich Theatre, it stars Sarah Galbraith, who has been seen in the Las Vegas and Broadway productions of The Phantom of the Opera and as Ariel in The Little Mermaid on the U.S. national tour.
Also in the cast are Jay Rincon, Aimie Atkinson, Ian Knauer, Ian Kirton, Samuel Parker, Clare Louise Connolly, Brett Shiels, Amy Anzel, Rob Lines, Lisa-Anne Wood, Ben Beard, Louise Roberts, Natalie Douglas, Eithne Bryan, Connor Macnamara, Sheila Grant, Simon Mayhew and Rebecca Orwell.
The show is set in early 1930s Atlantic City. According to press materials, it tells the story of a dancer, Rita Racine (Galbraith), and her quest to finally leave the dance marathon circuit of which she has been trapped for so long. It has a story based loosely on the film "They Shoot Horses Don't They?"
