South Pacific stars Paulo Szot and Kelli O'Hara reunite for Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein, which opens the New York Pops' 30th season Oct. 12 at Carnegie Hall.
Led by musical director and conductor Steven Reineke, the 8 PM concert is headlined by Tony winner Szot and four-time Tony nominee O'Hara, who starred as Emile de Becque and Nellie Forbush, respectively, in the 2008 Tony-winning revival of South Pacific.
Also featured is Mamma Mia! star Aaron Lazar, who appeared on Broadway in The Light in the Piazza and A Little Night Music; as well as Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA and New York Theatre Ballet.
"I've never been more excited about an opening of the season," Reineke said in a previous statement. "This may be the best one yet. It's going to be a glorious night of music."
The season will also include a celebration of the music of Tony-nominated and Academy Award-winning Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz April 13, 2013, as well as a tribute to Sammy Cahn on March 8, 2013.
