Marya Grandy, whose Broadway credits include Les Misérables and Damn Yankees, will temporarily join the cast of the York Theatre Company's critically acclaimed production of Closer Than Ever, the revue that features the songs of Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire, beginning Oct. 13.
Grandy will continue with the production through Nov. 4; she is filling in for Jacquelyn Piro, who has a prior commitment.
Now in performance through Nov. 25 at The York Theatre at Saint Peter’s, the production is described as "an intimate revue about love, friendship, security, happiness – and holding onto those essentials in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once."
The creative team includes James Morgan (set), Nicole Wee (costumes) and Kirk Bookman (lights). The production stage manager is Bernita Robinson.
Tickets are priced at $67.50 and are available online at www.yorktheatre.org, by calling (212) 935-5820, or in person at the box office at the York Theatre at Saint Peter’s (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).
