The 2013 season will feature new productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest and Macbeth. According to press materials, these three Shakespeare plays "deal most directly with the supernatural." In addition, three new plays will receive world premieres: The Lightning Child by Che Walker, with music by Arthur Darvill, Blue Stockings by Jessica Swale, and Gabriel by Samuel Adamson.
In addition, the Globe will present a mid-scale U.K. tour of Henry VI, Parts 1, 2 and 3, including a visit to the Globe in summer 2013, and there will be small-scale tours of King Lear and The Taming of the Shrew, which will also play at the Globe during their U.K., European and U.S. tours.
There will also be visiting appearances by Isango Ensemble from South Africa in Venus and Adonis, the Marjanishvili Theatre from Georgia with As You Like It, the Belarus Free Theatre with King Lear and Footsbarn with Indian Tempest.
