The U.K.'s Cheek by Jowl will launch a new French-language version of Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi, beginning performances in the Hague in the Netherlands Jan. 26, 2013, then touring England and Europe, beginning performances Jan. 30 at Coventry's Warwick Arts Centre, and visiting London's Silk Street Theatre at the Barbican Centre, April 10-20.

Co-produced by Les Gémeaux/Sceaux/Scène Nationale and La Comédie de Béthune - Centre Dramatique National du Nord-Pas-de-Calais with the Barbican Centre, it is directed by Declan Donnellan and designed by Nick Ormerod.

In 2007, Peter Brook invited Donnellan and Ormerod to form a group of actors to perform Racine's Andromaque. They are now collaborating with the same French actors on a new production of Jarry's Ubu Roi, a brutal satire about greed and the abuse of power, first seen in 1896.

The cast includes Xavier Boiffier, Camille Cayol, Vincent de Bouard, Christophe Grégoire, Cécile Leterme and Sylvain Levitte.
