The Beautiful Soup Theater Collective, who presented the rarely-seen musical A Doll's Life, will offer another rarity this winter: Arthur Bicknell's cult flop Moose Murders.

The production, featuring a revised script, will open Jan. 29, 2013, and run through Feb. 10 at The Connelly Theatre.

Co-directing and starring as showbiz team (one's blind, the other is tone-deaf) Snooks and Howie will be Steven Carl McCasland and Mallory Berlin (Nora in A Doll's Life). They will be joined by Collective members Anna Kirkland (Astrid in A Doll's Life) as Hedda Holloway, Jordan Tierney as Stinky Holloway, Dennis DelBene as Sidney Holloway, Noelle Stewart as Nurse Dagmar and Orlando Iriarte as Joe Buffalo Dance. Also featured in the cast are Caroline Rosenblum (Impressionism on Broadway) as Gay Holloway, Ali Bernstein (J.A.P.) as Lauraine Holloway and Cory Boughton as Nelson Fay. Luke Anthony, Alexander Kafarakis and Brittany Velotta serve as swings; Chasmin Hallyburton stage manages.

The production is part of Beautiful Soup's third season, which also features revivals of Isaac Bashevis Singer's Yentl this fall and a revival of the short-lived musical Henry, Sweet Henry next spring.

The infamous flop Moose Murders closed on its opening night, Feb. 22, 1983, at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, following 13 previews. Directed by John Roach, the cast included Jack Dabdoub, Scott Evans, Dennis Florzak, June Gable, Mara Hobel, Nicholas Hormann, Lisa McMillan, Don Potter, Lillie Robertson and Holland Taylor.
