Joey Calveri, who currently plays the ensemble role of Joey Primo in the Tony-nominated musical Rock of Ages, will step into the spotlight as wild rock idol Stacee Jaxx beginning Dec. 17 at Broadway’s Helen Hayes Theatre (240 W. 44th Street).
That same day, Andrew Call (American Idiot) will join the company as Joey Primo. Original Broadway cast member Jeremy Woodard, who originated the role of Joey Primo Off- and on Broadway and has performed the role of Stacee Jaxx since September 2011, will play his final performance Dec. 16.
Calveri has performed in the ensemble as Joey Primo and understudied Stacee Jaxx since joining the Broadway cast on Sept. 26, 2011, after performing in the show’s national tour. Other recent credits include Broadway’s Wonderland (Knight), the national tour of Saturday Night Fever, and the Las Vegas production of We Will Rock You.
The musical comedy Rock of Ages borrows rock hits of the 1980s to tell the story of showbiz lovers in L.A. The score includes "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is," "Here I Go Again," "Don't Stop Believin'" and more.
