As previously reported, Lambert, who claimed that his expectations for musicals are "quite high," gave his review of the star-studded film on Dec. 30 via Twitter and said that the "score suffered" from the actors who "pretended" to be singers.

When Oscar winner Crowe, who stars as the film's Javert, got word of Lambert's tweets, he replied, "I don't disagree with Adam, sure [the vocals] could have been sweetened [in the recording studio], [director Tom] Hooper wanted it raw and real, that's how it is."

In response, Lambert tweeted Jan. 2, "My movie review has gone viral. U can spend a whole year praising artists for inspiring work, but one critique gets all the attention. Funny… Those raw and real moments when characters broke down or were expressing the ugliness of the human condition were superb. However... My personal opinion: there were times when the vocals weren't able to convey the power, beauty and grace that the score ALSO calls for."

As previously reported, the film came in third place in the Dec. 31 domestic weekend box-office results and has grossed over $116 million worldwide.
