Daniel Oreskes Will Join Jesse Eisenberg and Vanessa Redgrave for The Revisionist Off-Broadway

Daniel Oreskes will join Academy and Tony Award-winning actress Vanessa Redgrave and Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg in the world premiere of The Revisionist, Eisenberg's new play that will begin Off-Broadway previews Feb. 15 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

As previously reported, Redgrave (Driving Miss Daisy, The Year of Magical Thinking, Long Day's Journey Into Night) will portray an older cousin of Eisenberg's character. Details of Oreskes' (The Twenty-Seventh Man, Russian Transport) role were not revealed.

Kip Fagan will direct the production that officially opens Feb. 28 for a run through March 31. Last season Eisenberg ("The Social Network") starred in his play Asuncion for the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.

According to the Rattlestick, "In The Revisionist David (Eisenberg) arrives in Poland with a crippling case of writer's block and a desire to be left alone. His 75-year-old second cousin Maria (Redgrave) welcomes him with a fervent need to connect with her distant American family. As their tenuous relationship develops, she reveals details about her complicated post-war past that tests their ideas of what it means to be a family."

The Revisionist will have scenic design by John McDermott, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Matt Frey, sound design by Bart Fasbender and property design by Andrew Diaz.
