Audra McDonald and Michael John LaChiusa Set for Lyrics & Lyricists Downtown

Five-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald will reunite with Marie Christine writer Michael John LaChiusa for an April 15 presentation of Lyrics & Lyricists Downtown at the 92YTribeca.

LaChiusa, whose musical Giant was staged last fall at the Public Theater Off-Broadway, penned the Medea-inspired musical Marie Christine for McDonald. That production premiered at Lincoln Center Theater in 1999. McDonald was also part of the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of LaChiusa's See What I Wanna See.

McDonald will moderate the 7:30 PM discussion that will feature vocalists to be announced.

LaChiusa is a five-time Tony Award nominee. His works also include Hello Again, Queen of the Mist, Bernarda Alba, The Wild Party, First Lady Suite and others.
