The starry film adaptation of the award-winning musical Les Misérables received three awards, including Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy). Anne Hathaway, who played the ill-fated Fantine and received critical acclaim for her performance, took home the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, and Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman, who starred in the massive role of Jean Valjean, received the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).
