The McCarter Theatre Center's starry production of Edward Albee’s award-winning A Delicate Balance officially opens at the New Jersey venue Jan. 25 following previews that began Jan. 18.

Directed by Emily Mann, performances will continue through Feb. 17.

The cast features two-time Obie Award winner and Tony nominee Kathleen Chalfant (Agnes), Tony Award winner John Glover (Tobias), two-time Tony nominee Penny Fuller (Claire), Roberta Maxwell (Edna), James A. Stephens (Harry) and Francesca Faridany (Julia).

"Agnes and Tobias’ precarious suburban lives are shaken when they find themselves facing unexpected houseguests — who plan to stay indefinitely," according to the McCarter.

The production also has set design by Daniel Ostling, costume design by Jennifer von Mayrhauser, lighting by Lap Chi Chu and stage management by Alison Cote.

Tickets range from $20-$65, and are available online at mccarter.org, by phone at (609) 258-2787, and in person at the McCarter Theatre ticket office at 91 University Place in Princeton, NJ.
