Tony Award nominee Alison Fraser will perform Only a Paper Moon: A Tennessee Williams Songbook, a evening of music inspired by Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, and his other works,Feb. 25 at the Five Angels Theatre in Manhattan. Proceeds from the concert benefit the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival.
David Kaplan will direct the 8 PM benefit that will have musical direction by Allison Leyton-Brown. The collection of songs was compiled by Festival curator Kaplan.
Fraser (The Secret Garden, The Divine Sister, Romance/Romance) will be joined by a seven-piece swing band for an evening that promises music from the "30s and 40s, Mississippi blues, Latin love songs, silky jazz classics and some rousing Gilbert & Sullivan, inspired by The Glass Menagerie."
Expect to hear "It's Only a Paper Moon," "The Party's Over Now," "If I Didn't Care" and "St. Louis Woman."
