Two additional titles will be added soon. Artistic director BJ Jones and executive director Timothy J. Evans revealed three of the five coming works on Feb. 25.
Chapatti, to play March 7-April 13, 2014, is billed this way: "Romance is a distant memory for two lonely animal-lovers living in Dublin. When forlorn Dan and his dog Chapatti cross paths with amiable Betty and her 19 cats, an unexpected spark begins a warm and gentle story about two people re-discovering the importance of human companionship."
Mahoney is a Chicago-area favorite whose credits at Northlight include The Outgoing Tide and A Life.
The revival of Simon's Pulitzer Prize-winning Lost in Yonkers, about boys left with their cold grandmother and their yearning aunt during World War II, will play May 2-June 8, 2014.
