Relative Values will begin performances June 12 prior to an official opening June 19, for a run through June 29. Trevor Nunn will direct a cast that includes Patricia Hodge, Caroline Quentin and celebrated TV impressionist Rory Bremner in his drama stage debut. Set in the early 1950's, the play is described in press materials as being about the uproarious culture clash between the glittering world of Hollywood and the stiff upper lip of the English aristocracy.
Candida will begin performances July 3 prior to an official opening July 10, directed by Royal Court associate director Simon Godwin. The play revolves around a genial, popular clergyman The Reverend James Morrell, whose life is thrown into turmoil when a beautiful 18-year-old poet, Eugene Marchbanks, enters the family home one day, and declares that not only is he in love with the reverend's wife Candida, but that he has reason to believe that his feelings are reciprocated.
King Lear will begin performances July 25 prior to an official opening July 31, for a run through Aug. 10. Lucy Bailey will direct David Haig in the title role, returning to Bath, where he previously starred as another king, George III, in The Madness of George III in 2011, before transferring to the West End.
A Little Hotel on the Side will begin performances Aug. 15 prior to an official opening Aug. 21, for a run through Aug. 31. Lindsay Posner and Cal McCrystal will direct the classic farce in John Mortimer's translation.
