What show recently impressed you?
I was so lucky to catch Golden Boy before it closed. During the past year as the resident director on War Horse, many shows came and went while I was "tending the stables," and on my nights off I tried not to sit in the dark for several hours. Because of this I undoubtedly missed many great shows. But Golden Boy was such great work from everyone involved, I felt transported to another era, and at the end of the show left creatively stimulated.
I also really loved The Old Man and the Old Moon by PigPen Theatre. Those are some really talented young theatre professionals, and I look forward to what they have in store for us next.
What production are you most excited to see?
Jack O'Brien has an incredible cast and I think Douglas Carter Beane is hilarious, so I am really excited for The Nance. Also, I grew up reading everything Roald Dahl wrote, adoring his imaginative stories and so I cannot wait to see how the RSC has brought Matilda to the stage.
Odd to be answering this question since I am beyond ecstatic to be making my Broadway debut with Ann. I am just honored to be working on Broadway now... but since you asked, Kiss of the Spider Woman by McNally, Kander and Ebb. Also, Burn This by Lanford Wilson.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
I am working with the very talented writers Kirsten Guenther and Julian Fleisher on the original musical, Measure of Success. Writing a musical that is completely original is possibly harder than balancing the United States of America's finances, but an incredibly rewarding challenge, and every new step of the way on MOS is thrilling.
