The screening of Shakespeare's tragedy of a royal family's battle over its monarch's land, and the horrifying consequences, marks NT Live's second collaboration with another theatre company, following its broadcast of Complicite's A Disappearing Number in fall 2010.

The NT Live screenings series will continue March 17 with a broadcast of director Danny Boyle's production of Frankenstein, a play by Nick Dear based on the novel by Mary Shelley.
This production of King Lear will perform at the Brooklyn Academy of Music April 28-June 5.
