Edward Watts, whose Broadway credits include Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson and Finian's Rainbow, is Superman in the New York City Center Encores! production of It's a Bird…It's a Plane…It's Superman, which plays the famed Manhattan venue March 20-24.

Watts is joined by Jenny Powers (Lois Lane), David Pittu (Dr. Sedgwick), Adam Monley (Jim Morgan), Scott Weber, Craig Henningsen, Suo Liu, Alli Mauzey (Sydney), Jason Ng, James Saito (Father Ling) and Will Swenson (Max Menken) with Wendi Bergamini, Ward Billeisen, Sam Bolen, Stephen Carrasco, Hannah Florence, Sara Jean Ford, Miles Johnson, Max Kumangai, Samantha Massell, Skye Mattox, Kenita R. Miller, Michael Mindlin, Jessica Lea Patty, David Scott Purdy, Manuel Stark, Charlie Williams, Kirsten Wyatt and Samantha Zack.

The production is directed by John Rando with choreography by Joshua Bergasse and music direction by Rob Berman.

It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, based on the comic strip "Superman," has a book by David Newman and Robert Benton, music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams.

The original production of It's a Bird…It's a Plane…It's Superman opened at the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre) on March 29, 1966, and ran for 129 performances. It was directed by Harold Prince and starred Bob Holiday as Superman, Patricia Marand as Lois Lane, Jack Cassidy and Linda Lavin. The show features the songs "You've Got Possibilities," "You've Got What I Need," "I'm Not Finished Yet" and "The Woman for The Man."
