Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, star of Broadway's Motown, two-time Tony nominee André De Shields (The Full Monty, Play On!) and Annie star Brynn O'Malley are among the artists who will take part in the 11th edition of the Bistro Award-winning series If It Only Even Runs a Minute April 22 at (le) Poisson Rouge.
If It Only Even Runs A Minute 11, set to begin at 9:30 PM, will feature rare songs, behind-the-scenes tales and photos from Broadway musicals that may not have been fully appreciated the first time around.
Scheduled to perform are George Lee Andrews (Evita, The Phantom of the Opera), Bertilla Baker (Titanic, Asylum), Marlene Danielle (Cats, West Side Story), De Shields (The Wiz, The Full Monty), Dixon (Motown, The Scottsboro Boys), Jake Epstein (American Idiot, Spider-Man), Scott Fagan (writer of Soon), Danielle Gimbal (Pool Boy, The Fix), Leah Hocking (Billy Elliot, All Shook Up), Christopher Ketner (The Sound of Music), Kelvin Moon Loh (American Idiot, Here Lies Love), O'Malley (Annie, Sunday in the Park with George), Michon Peacock (Chicago, Georgy), Monet Julia Sabel (6 The Musical), Amanda Michelle Savan (Fancy Nancy, Cruel Shoes), Ryan Speakman (Camelot, Oliver), Larry Spivack (Metamorphosis, Triumph of Love), Taylor Trensch (Matilda, Bare), Freida Williams (Starmites, Jesus Christ Superstar) and Savannah Wise ("Smash," Rock of Ages), among others.
According to press notes, "The show features performances, as well as stories, from original cast members and writers of several of the featured shows."
If It Only Even Runs A Minute 11 will feature songs from and stories about Georgy, Greenwich Village USA, Haarlem Nocturne, "Happily Ever After," Rockabye Hamlet, The Scottsboro Boys, Soon, Starting Here Starting Now, The Thing About Men and more.
If It Only Even Runs A Minute is created and produced by Jennifer Ashley Tepper and Kevin Michael Murphy. Caleb Hoyer is the musical director.
