Tony Award winner Rob Ashford, recently represented on Broadway with the revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, directs industry readings of the new musical comedy Wilshire April 4-5 at Chelsea Studios.
Wilshire features a book by Bobby Goldman, widow of James Goldman, and music and lyrics by Drew Brody.
The musical is described as an "original story about life, death, and everyone in between. An ambitious developer has turned an old age home into a hip hotel in the heart of modern-day West Hollywood, but an egotistical rock god, his scheming agent, a vegan waitress and, of course, the ghosts of the former residents all threaten to ruin the grand opening of Wilshire."
