As previously announced, Christine Pedi will make her Chicago debut as Matron "Mama" Morton, also beginning April 8.
Adam Pascal made his Broadway debut originating the role of Roger in Jonathan Larson's Rent, a role which he also played in the Off-Broadway premiere and later in London, and for which he received a 1996 Tony Award nomination. He also originated the role of Radames in Broadway's Aida by Elton John and Tim Rice. His other Broadway credits include the final Emcee in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production of Cabaret and the final Huey in Memphis.
The revival of Chicago began life as one of the three annual Encores! presentations offered by City Center. The musical opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in November 1996 where it remained through February 1997. The musical transferred to the Shubert Theatre on Feb. 11, 1997, and played that house through Jan. 26, 2003. The revival reopened at the Ambassador Theatre, its current home, on Jan. 29, 2003.
