The Acting Company presents a benefit staged reading of Fay Kanin's Goodbye, My Fancy May 20 at 7 PM at the Mainstage Theater at Playwrights Horizons.

The evening features the talents of Acting Company board member Dana Ivey, Marylouise Burke, Jay O. Sanders, David Lansbury and Anita Keal, as well as Acting Company alumni members Angela Pierce, Michele Tauber, Kevin Orton and Kelsey Landon.

The reading will be followed by a reception with the cast and director, Ian Belknap, who is the the Acting Company's artistic director.

Goodbye, My Fancy was Fay Kanin’s first Broadway show featuring Shirley Booth, Conrad Nagel, Sam Wanamaker and Madeline Carroll in a romantic comedy about a Congresswoman returning to her alma mater to receive an honorary degree long after she had been expelled for an all-night date with a young professor — now the university president. It’s our tribute to this talented playwright, screenwriter and producer who died in March," said Margot Harley, producer of The Acting Company, in a statement.

The Acting Company, celebrating its 40th anniversary, recently announced its upcoming season will feature Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, directed by John Rando, and Hamlet, directed by Belknap.

Mainstage Theater (Playwrights Horizons) is located at 416 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. For tickets, priced $35 and $60, call (212) 258-3111.
