Previously seen in New York and Toronto, it is described in press materials as "a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants fusion of clown, improvisation, theatre and social experiment." In the show, we meet Mimi, a Parisian temptress, who is stood up by her date. Always the optimist, Mimi selects one fortunate man from the audience (a different one every night) to be her date instead as she and her new date embark on a spontaneous 90-minute adventure.
She is the recipient of two 2012 Canadian Comedy Awards for "Best Female Improviser" and "Best Comedic Play" for Blind Date, a winner of the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Award for Improvisation, and a 2010 Betty Mitchell Award (Calgary) for "Best Female in a Musical or Comedy," also for Blind Date.
Other credits include leading roles in two Canadian television series (CTV’s "Alice, I Think" and Showcase's "The Foundation") as well as having guest-hosted CBC’s "This Hour Has 22 Minutes." She also appears in the feature films "The Rocker," "Mister Magorium's Wonder Emporium" and the upcoming "The F-Word" starring Daniel Radcliffe. She wrote and directed Kung Fu Panties, which played two sold-out runs in 2011 and 2013.
Bind Date is co-produced by Kevin McCollum (Broadway's Rent, Avenue Q, In The Heights, West Side Story, The Drowsy Chaperone), LAMS Productions and Just For Laughs Theatrical.
