The Broadway revival of Pippin, starring Matthew James Thomas and Tony Award winner Patina Miller, earned four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall June 9.
This new incarnation of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's dark and groovy coming-of-age musical premiered at the American Repertory Theater, where Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Hair, Porgy and Bess) is artistic director, last fall. The staging incorporates circus choreography and acrobatics by Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (7 Fingers).
