"The Mystery of Irma Vep is a satire of several theatrical and film genres, including Victorian melodrama, farce and the Alfred Hitchcock film 'Rebecca,'" press notes state. "The play is written for two actors who, between them, play eight characters of both sexes."
Tom Aulino has performed on Broadway in On the Town. His other theatre credits include Marvin’s Room, Up Against It!, The Chang Fragments, Measure for Measure, Henry VIII, Sin and UBU. David Greenspan is the recipient of five Obie Awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award. He has recently performed in The Haunted Inn, Marie Antoinette and Melancholy Play, and his writing credits include Dead Mother, She Stoops to Comedy, Go Back to Where You Are, The Argument, The Myopia and Coraline.
“Irma Vep is going to be a funny show! We are incredibly happy to have both Tom and David as a two man cast playing eight different characters with over 35 different costume changes,” Gary Hygom, producer for Bay Street Theatre, said in an earlier statement.
