French composer Claude-Michel Schonberg wrote the Tony-winning book and music to the international hit musical Les Misérables, as well as Miss Saigon and The Pirate Queen. He celebrates a birthday July 6.

Playbill is marking the occasion with a collection of Schonberg's songs on stage and in concert.

Les Miserables performs at the Tony Awards in 1987. Original London cast member Frances Ruffelle earned a Tony for her performance as Eponine.
