Lionel Bart's Oliver!, the second of the seven musicals that comprise the famed Music Circus summer season at the Wells Fargo Pavilion in Sacramento, CA, begins performances July 19.

Directed and choreographed by Richard Stafford with musical direction by Craig Barna, the limited engagement will continue through July 24.

The cast is led by Christopher Bones as Oliver Twist, Roland Rusinek as Mr. Bumble, Karen Culliver as Widow Corney, Shannon Stoeke as Mr. Sowerberry/Dr. Grimwig, Cynthia Ferrer as Mrs. Sowerberry/Mrs. Bedwin, Matthew Gumley as The Artful Dodger, Ron Wisniski as Fagin, Jacquelyn Piro Donovan as Nancy, Paige Silvester as Bet, Aaron Serotsky as Bill Sykes and Gordon Goodman as Mr. Brownlow.

The ensemble includes Bradley Benjamin, Lauren Blackman, JD Daw, Lisa Ferris, Michael McGurk, Natalie Ross, Jonathan Stahl and Joseph Torello.

Oliver! features music, lyrics and book by Lionel Bart and is based on Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist." Bart's score for Oliver! features such tunes as "Food, Glorious Food," "I'd Do Anything," "Consider Yourself" and "As Long As He Needs Me."

Oliver!, according to previous press notes, "is the story of a young orphan boy who wanted 'more.' From the orphanage to the mean streets of London, the ever-optimistic Oliver strives to survive through thick and thin. This proves no easy task as the boy encounters both saints and sinners on his journey."

The Music Circus season will continue with Anything Goes (July 26-31), Camelot (Aug. 2-7), Annie Get Your Gun (Aug. 9-14), I Do! I Do! (Aug. 16-21) and Miss Saigon (Aug. 23-28).

The Music Circus season is presented by California Musical Theatre under the direction of executive producer Richard Lewis.

The Music Circus is located at 1419 H Street in Sacramento, CA. For ticket information call (916) 557-1999 or visit www.californiamusicaltheatre.com for more information.
