Closer Than Ever opened in June 2012 at The York Theatre Company. It is described as an "intimate musical about love, friendship, security, happiness – and holding onto those essentials in a world that pulls us in a hundred directions at once.
With direction by Maltby, associate direction and choreography by Kurt Stamm and music direction by Gerle, the creative team included James Morgan (sets), Nicole Wee (costumes) and Kirk Bookman (lights).
