Atlantic Theater Company's Atlantic for Kids presents the world premiere of Tilly the Trickster, a musical adaptation of the children's book of the same title by Molly Shannon, beginning Sept. 21.
With music and lyrics by Drew Fornarola and a book by Jeremy Dobrish, Tilly the Trickster runs through Oct. 13.
Directed by Dobrish, the cast features Laura Barbiea, David Bernstein, Elisabeth Ness, Ronald Peet, Robbie Rescigno and Mia Weinberger.
"This high spirited tale follows a feisty, mischievous youngster named Tilly, who loves nothing more than playing pranks and causing a little trouble," press notes state. "From leaking cups to toothpaste-flavored cookies, this saucy heroine has more than one inventive and relentless trick up her sleeve. And no one can escape her tomfoolery. Not even Peppermint, her eastern philosophy steeped talking dog. But when the tables are turned and her family does some scheming of its own, who will get the last laugh?"
The production features scenic design by Edward Pierce, costume design by Katja Andreiev, puppet design by Spencer Lott, lighting design by Marika Kent and sound design by Will Irons. Fornarola is the musical director, Alison Beatty is the choreographer and John Nehlich is the stage manager.
