Two-time Tony Award nominee Harry Connick, Jr., who was last seen on Broadway in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, will star in a comedy pilot for Fox, according to Deadline.com.
The untitled project, penned by Eric Stangel and Justin Stangel ("The Late Show") and featuring a "musical element," casts Connick, Jr. as a single father who takes time off from the entertainment industry to reconnect with his teenage daughter.
David Letterman's Worldwide Pants is producing with ABC Studios. Connick Jr., the Stangel brothers and Worldwide Pants' Letterman, Rob Burnett and Ann Marie Wilkins are executive producers.
Connick Jr., who has been seen on television in "Will & Grace," was Tony-nominated for his performances in The Pajama Game and Thou Shalt Not.
