Clune, who plays the Old Lady, most recently played Violet in the national tour of the musical 9 to 5. Other stage credits include Donna in the international tour of Mamma Mia!, Mrs. Wilkinson in Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre and Mogadishu at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Dreyfus, who plays Dr. Pangloss, has previously appeared at the Menier in Simon Gray's The Common Pursuit. Other London stage credits include the Emcee in Rufus Norris' original 2006 production of Cabaret at the Lyric Theatre, Carmen Ghia in the original London cast of The Producers at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and Lady in the Dark at the National Theatre (for which he won an Olivier Award). Screen credits include "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme," "The Thin Blue Line" and "Notting Hill."
They join the previously announced Fra Fee as Candide, Cassidy Janson as Paquette, Ben Lewis as Govenor and Vanderdendur, Scarlett Strallen as Cunegonde and David Thaxton as Maximillian. Also in the cast are Carly Anderson, Jeremy Batt, Michael Cahill, Christopher Jacobsen, Frankie Jenna, Rachel Spurrell, Helen Walsh and Matt Wilman.
The production is directed by Matthew White, choreographed by Adam Cooper and designed by Paul Farnsworth. The musical supervisor is David Charles Abell, with musical direction by Seann Alderking and orchestrations by Jason Carr. Lighting is by Paul Anderson, and sound is by Gareth Owen.
