Facing millions in deficits, the 70-year-old company filed for bankruptcy in early October. Anna Nicole, the Mark-Anthony Turnage-Richard Thomas opera about late tabloid and reality star Anna Nicole Smith, was the final production in the company's history.
NYCO is now auctioning off costumes, props, musical instruments and scenery inventory, as well as the company's office furniture.
Among the available items are vintage costume pieces, including boots, gowns, and wigs; a harpsichord, a xylophone and five octave celesta from the orchestra; as well as chandeliers, steamer trunks and barrels. Audio-video, shop and production equipment, and standard office furnishings will also be auctioned.
